Faith

writing challenge day #20 – the Lords promises

So I found this quote I had saved way back from last April and it just kinda helped me breathe a little easier today. Let me share with you …

And it just made me nod my head … Yes! Yes we have to fight. We have to make the choice to choose to fight, to believe, to get up everyday put one foot infront of the other and choose to see God. No it’s not easy. It’s not the easy choice but it’s the best one. It’s one that when we start choosing Him, choosing to bring Him with us when we battle each day then the days will start to become easier.

Luke 17:6 says this … “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree,’Be uprooted and plant in the sea’ and it will obey you.” You see here the disciple were listening to Jesus teach them in parables and about sin and He had just told them “if your brother or sister sons against you, rebuke them and if they repent figure them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.” And the apostles reply to the Lord “increase our faith!” Did you see the exclamation mark – like come on there is no way we can do that – only with more faith, but the Lord replies with all you need is not increased faith, not faith as big as a mountain but faith as small as a mustard seed. That’s all it takes, that’s all God wants from us, and in that tiny mustard seed we can choose to keep going, we can choose God, we can choose to love, we can choose to forgive, we can choose to ask for forgiveness, we can choose to have faith, we can choose to keep going, we can choose to be enough, to bring God with us in all our daily battles. Just faith as small as a mustard seed is all we need for God to continue to work in us.
